Not a Wadsworth Resident? WYFA Information

The Wadsworth Grizzlies Youth Football teams belong to the Wadsworth Youth Football ASSOCIATION, the league organization. WYFA was founded over forty five years ago in Wadsworth Ohio. They started with just 6 teams from the Wadsworth area. WYFA has since grown to 17 teams from 11 cities and towns in Medina and Summit counties. The vision of the founders was to provide the smaller, 'featherweights' the opportunity to learn and play football without the fear of going up against the big kids. Thus, the low weight limit rules that are in place. Players are eligible between the ages of 8 and 13 and are generally grouped by size and age. See our 'Information' page for the player levels and weight limits. In spite of the lower weight limits, a very high percentage of high school players in the participating cities started out on a WYFA team.

"ATTENTION"

Please do not park on any grass areas in or around Bird Park.  This is a violation of park rules and you will be ticketed and could potentially be towed. Park only in designated parking areas or on the streets where it is legal to park your vehicle.  Also, please do not use the driveway between Olympic Way and the Bird parking lots. This is the service road that runs behind the right field fence of the baseball field. This is not a public road and may not be used by motor vehicles.

It is the policy of Wadsworth Youth Football to abide by the rules of city parks that we occupy for camps, practice, games and other official activities.

Wadsworth Youth Football and Cheer SPIRITWEAR is available to order. Look for order forms at Skills Camp or on your first day of practice. You may also print an order form here. ALL ORDERS MUST BE TURNED IN, WITH PAYMENT, BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 13TH. Items should be received by August 28th in time for the first game of the season!
